Most often, Anna takes her clinics and courses to rescues and sanctuaries in order to help the horses who have yet to find their forever homes achieve a greater opportunity to do so. One rescue with whom we have worked for many, many years here in Colorado is Zuma’s Rescue Ranch in Littleton. Zuma’s has been our host for Colt Starting, the Holistic Horse Course, the ROTH Trainer’s Exams and our Trainer’s Demo Day, Reiki for Horses, Animal Communication, and a number of other events from speaking engagements and fund raisers, to one-day clinics.
Zuma’s embodies the mission that drives Anna and ROTH to keep reaching out, to keep healing, and to keep helping. We would like to thank Jodi, Paul, and all the staff at Zuma’s, inlcuding Liz Cotrell and our own ROTH Trainer in Training, Carmen Brander. We salute the work you do each day in the lives of so many to rest them, rehabilitate them, and to reignite the love of life and the possibility for connection between all animals and people. Thanks for all you do.
Yet to come this year at Zuma’s is the Weekend of Animal Communication with RMSAAM, Part III of our Holistic Horse Course, and Reiki Healing for Horses, in addition to our Sunday talks with ROTH Trainers. For details and to register, please visit our events calendar here: http://www.reachouttohorses.com/events.html
There is no place I would rather be than in the corral among the horses and healing energy. It is a place surrounded by mountains, nestled in the heart of the wild west, where horses receive healing and, in turn, heal human hearts. It is an energy so subtle it ignites the flame within, with an art that has worldwide recognition and acceptance. If you have felt the pull of destiny, now is the time to embrace your calling as the lightworker you were born be.
One of ROTH’s most popular retreats, Healing Horses at the Historic Bitterroot Ranch in Dubois, WY, came and went in early June. Dubois is located in the niche below the intersection of two great mountain ranges: the volcanic Absarokas, spilling eastward from Yellowstone, and the southeastward-ranging Wind River Mountains, the tallest mountain range in Wyoming. Students from across the US gathered amidst the peaks and the Wind River as they mingled with the horses, spending time within the herd, reading the horses’ energies, answering their requests for healing, and helping to interpret their registers.
One of the biggest hits of Anna’s Healing Horses classes is the Love Lessons. When we connect with the horse’s heart chakra, they can express emotion through us that they otherwise would not be able to. Consequently, we can experience our own healing by being the channel for their emotional release. Love begets love, and love lessons beget love lessons!

Everyone told me this week would change my life…. They were right! Everyday was life lessons learned, but the most amazing day was the day I gave Reiki to a young Arabian Stallion. Life-changing! He taught me so much about being present in the moment and listening! I know when I get home my horses will thank him. Blessings to Anna, all the members of my group, and the Bitterroot Ranch!
Elena D. of CO
The beauty of the retreat location was matched by the grace and intensity of the teachings. I am confident I will be bringing back to my ranch a very useful and unique practice for my animals.

What I loved best were the reiki Attunements, which, for me, were the most spiritual aspect of the retreat. I also loved the opportunity to give Reiki love to the horses while they were in a corral. (There were many more horses there than I could connect with!) At one point I was surrounded by 5 horses all wanting Reiki love.

To walk into a herd of 80-100 horses and have them choose you…what an exhilarating experience and I will not top that for awhile! Giving to the horses is amazing!
Richard J. of VA
From staff to clinician, everyone was extremely helpful and informative. I will be able to use most of all the information in my present employment. Thank you.

I came to Bitterroot Ranch with Anna here because I truly needed emotional, spiritual and physical healing. I am so blessed that I got even more than I could have ever expected. My advice to you would be to trust the flow of how Anna works – that’s what made my life lesson shine through. The bond and friendship with all the others n the class is priceless. I am truly healed and this experience has and will change my life forever. Much love to all here: horses, dogs, staff, friends, others and Anna!
The week began early for our Reiki Master students who arrived in advance for their Master Attunements and to access the new information they would be using out in the world as they begin their journeys as Master Healers. From selecting oils for attunements to master healing sessions, truly a transformational experience was had by all…even by the curious onlookers.

The idyllic setting of the Bitterroot Ranch added to the magic of this wonderful, week-long, experiential retreat. Being immersed in nature and surrounded by beauty from the moment we stepped out of our gorgeous log cabins was an absolute joy. Totally loved sharing Reiki with the lovely group of people on the retreat, energy healing with the horses and the spectacle of a 200 odd herd making their way up to higher pastures every evening. The absolute highlight for me though was receiving the Reiki Master attunement with the energy of the elements all around us and the horses coming in to share their energy and healing as well. It truly was a remarkable and magical experience. Heartfelt thanks to Anna for creating this fabulous event. Would do it again tomorrow!
You Just Might Save Your Horses Life with Some of These Helpful Tips:
Nearly a year ago I arrived home after an amazing Healing Horses experience at Bitterroot Ranch in WY. Happy to be home and spend time with my herd, I ventured out on the ranch Monday morning and my equine soul mate, Excalibur, was already calling me. He immediately caught my attention with his rolling nicker and stance.
A bout of springtime Laminitis had come calling, and I sprung into action.
We thought that springtime would be a good time to share some of the things you can do during a Laminitis emergency while waiting for your vet to arrive.
Using some of these suggestions, you might just save your horse’s life.

We treated Excalibur Holistically, and nearly entirely naturally, only giving him Bute when it was absolutely necessary to control his pain. Now, almost a year later, Excalibur is out with his herd, grazing the pastures that are suitable for his dietary needs, with not too many sugary grasses to which he can have access. He regularly gallops with his girls and lives the life of a free horse once more!

Welcome Back to Anna Twinney for part 2! Anna gives us a little window into what she is doing now and why her work is right for anyone who is ready to be open to learning more about themselves and how they interact with the world. Find Anna at www.reachouttohorses.com. We loved spending time with her and we know you will too.
How did it all start, the worldwide journey of Anna Twinney? What provoked the drive to develop the methods, the students, and to reach out to the horses? We can bring a person’s trajectory into focus so much more clearly when we know the backstory, the trials, the inequities, and understand what exactly they went through to become the person they are today. Anna has provided us with just that, a story, The Origin of Passion.
Follow the link below to all the stages of the journey, the videos, and to get the scoop on what brought Anna to greatness as an ambassador on behalf of the animals who call Earth their home.
A magic story about a friendship and the love for all living creatures –
Via the combination of Animal Communication, Reiki, and the Bowen technique – thanks to Anna
In gratitude, I wish to share these magic moments of connection and healing with you.
Sending so many thoughts and thanks to Anna, my loving and patient mentor through years and still in these moments sharing her immense experience so generously!
I have had the pleasure of attending several of Anna’s AC workshops, as well as Reiki here in Denmark together with my close friend, Trillee.
I am now attending the AC Mentorship programme for the 2nd year and loving it more every day! All of the knowledge and skills that Anna shares, as well as the connectedness with fellow participants and their four-legged friends is wonderful.
A while ago, my friend, Trillee, called me when I was in town. (We often work together long distance). There was an emergency: a horse was lying down, not wanting or being able to get up. The horse was owned by a person very special to her, so she was quite upset and touched. The horse was somewhere here on my island, Funen. With Trillee, being over on the west coast, and me in the middle of the island, neither of us were near them.
I wondered, could I help by sending healing/distance Bowen? She would send Reiki and Munay-Ki as well. I was told, that the vet was on his way, too. So, I tuned in, just sat down in the middle of a busy, noisy, shopping center – and there he was – the horse. I did some testing distance, felt a stomach ache, like colic, but not really colic, more like some muscles being tight around his belly, causing the pain. I felt his front line being tight, and his legs not able to carry him, not being able to get up. I did some emergency Bowen, then sensed I had to do something to help him breathe better, so I did some more moves for respiratory. Then I sensed, his sacrum was somewhat unaligned, so I did some moves to help it get back into place.
There was a big change – it felt as if it was all ok now. I then told him that now he should be able to get up. “Come on – you can do it!”, I said to him to encourage him, and that he would be ok. I felt him get up and shake himself, as if to shake it all off, then there was easier breathing. And then there was quiet.
I had seen him as not small, but not that big either. Not just normally brown with black mane and tail, but not black either. Seeing brown, but with a darker touch – a deep, dark brown, like chestnut.
I sent text messages to Trillee to tell her, that I had finished. Then to share what I had done. Trillee had then sent it to the owner. She also shared what she herself had done and felt.
This was such a moving experience for me to get validation. It turned out that he had just that deep, dark, brown color. That when we had worked on him, he had suddenly just stood up and shaken, as if to shake everything off. Then everything was fine, and he got his appetite back. They told me about the sacrum; they shared that he had gotten stuck underneath the hay “basket” and had twisted his leg/hind end.
The daughter, who’s horse it was, had lost another horse last summer, and they shared that seeing the horse on the ground, only briefly lifting his head when she called out and then lying down again, had scared everyone. They worried that the vet might have to put him to sleep, as he was totally weak.
When I spoke to Trillee afterward, it turned out that she had been guided to work on the chest area as well. Getting an update in the evening, he was just fine. He had also been checked by the vet when he arrived in the afternoon.
Now, almost two weeks later, he is still doing fine and enjoying life.
We have planned for me to go visit them “live” to say hello and give him some wellness.
I am looking forward to meeting this very special soul. He was just so very present, being very brave.
I feel so humble to have experienced this miracle – so thank you, Anna, again – for making it possible!
I am feeling grateful for all this to “travel” across species and distances.
