Love Lessons to Heal the Heart and Soul

One of ROTH’s most popular retreats, Healing Horses at the Historic Bitterroot Ranch in Dubois, WY, came and went in early June.  Dubois is located in the niche below the intersection of two great mountain ranges: the volcanic Absarokas, spilling eastward from Yellowstone, and the southeastward-ranging Wind River Mountains, the tallest mountain range in Wyoming.  Students from across the US gathered amidst the peaks and the Wind River as they mingled with the horses, spending time within the herd, reading the horses’ energies, answering their requests for healing, and helping to interpret their registers.

One of the biggest hits of Anna’s Healing Horses classes is the Love Lessons. When we connect with the horse’s heart chakra, they can express emotion through us that they otherwise would not be able to.  Consequently, we can experience our own healing by being the channel for their emotional release.  Love begets love, and love lessons beget love lessons!

Here are some images from this year’s Healing Horses at the Bitterroot Ranch Retreat along with what our students had to share about their experience:

Learning the life-changing art of Reiki in their incredible, beautiful landscape was, quite simply, transformational.

Authentic connection and magical transformation – this was the result of my reiki experience with Anna Twinney.  Join the tribe/herd and let the magic begin!

Happy S. of CO

Everyone told me this week would change my life…. They were right!  Everyday was life lessons learned, but the most amazing day was the day I gave Reiki to a young Arabian Stallion.  Life-changing!  He taught me so much about being present in the moment and listening!   I know when I get home my horses will thank him.  Blessings to Anna, all the members of my group, and the Bitterroot Ranch!

Elena D. of CO

The beauty of the retreat location was matched by the grace and intensity of the teachings.  I am confident I will be bringing back to my ranch a very useful and unique practice for my animals.

Sally W. of MA

What I loved best were the reiki Attunements, which, for me, were the most spiritual aspect of the retreat.  I also loved the opportunity to give Reiki love to the horses while they were in a corral.  (There were many more horses there than I could connect with!)  At one point I was surrounded by 5 horses all wanting Reiki love.

Marilyn S. of MN

To walk into a herd of 80-100 horses and have them choose you…what an exhilarating experience and I will not top that for awhile!  Giving to the horses is amazing!

Richard J. of VA

From staff to clinician, everyone was extremely helpful and informative.  I will be able to use most of all the information in my present employment.  Thank you.

Sydney B. VA

If you ware feeling closed down in our modern world, in this clinic you will feel your heart grow at least 10 sizes BIGGER!  NO MORE GRINCH!  Great for all levels of experience.

I came to Bitterroot Ranch with Anna here because I truly needed emotional, spiritual and physical healing.  I am so blessed that I got even more than I could have ever expected.  My advice to you would be to trust the flow of how Anna works – that’s what made my life lesson shine through.  The bond and friendship with all the others n the class is priceless.  I am truly healed and this experience has and will change my life forever.  Much love to all here: horses, dogs, staff, friends, others and Anna!

The week began early for our Reiki Master students who arrived in advance for their Master Attunements and to access the new information they would be using out in the world as they begin their journeys as Master Healers.  From selecting oils for attunements to master healing sessions, truly a transformational experience was had by all…even by the curious onlookers.

From our Reiki Master, Christine M. of wherever the wind takes her…

The idyllic setting of the Bitterroot Ranch added to the magic of this wonderful, week-long, experiential retreat.  Being immersed in nature and surrounded by beauty from the moment we stepped out of our gorgeous log cabins was an absolute joy.  Totally loved sharing Reiki with the lovely group of people on the retreat, energy healing with the horses and the spectacle of a 200 odd herd making their way up to higher pastures every evening.  The absolute highlight for me though was receiving the Reiki Master attunement with the energy of the elements all around us and the horses coming in to share their energy and healing as well.  It truly was a remarkable and magical experience.   Heartfelt thanks to Anna for creating this fabulous event.  Would do it again tomorrow!

Victory for Wild Horses in Wyoming!

Dear Friends;

On the heels of winning a victory for Oregon wild horse mares, threatened by dangerous sterilization surgery, comes yet another win for the wild ones. The U.S. Court of Appeals Tenth Circuit upheld a lower court’s dismissal of a lawsuit filed by the State of Wyoming against the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) seeking the removal of hundreds of wild horses from public lands across the state including mustangs from the Stewart Creek Herd.

fc010e9c-5ed9-422a-878e-855863b50f6a1

Ironically, Quinn and I were visiting the Stewart Creek mustangs with Lynn Hanson, my friend and fellow wild horse advocate, when our attorneys learned of this second victory. Being out here with these beautiful, family and freedom loving icons of the West reminds me of why we fight. Their home is over 230,000 acres of sagebrush valleys and windswept rims along the Continental Divide. (below-Lynn shoots GK filming)

The first time I saw the colorful Stewart Creek wild horses, it was the dead of winter. Ann Evans and I were driving from Riverton to Rawlins, and we were thrilled to see a family band just a short distance from highway 287/789, about 20 miles north of town.

Winters are bitter and long in Stewart Creek. The foals above didn’t seem to mind. We saw this lone mustang in his huge home during our winter drive-by. He, too, was not far from the main highway. I imagine his friends were just out of sight below him.

f6c87205-a7bc-4bb0-8770-ad2faba5bdb31

When I left Stewart Creek a few days ago, there was a colorful group of five bachelor stallions only 100 yards or so off the highway. It was grand to see them in nearly the same place as the winter ones.  We encourage you to try your hand at finding them. If you have a high clearance vehicle, you can enter the range on a number of sandy roads.

Take your binoculars to verify that these often distant dots are real wild mustangs!

Happy Trails!

Testimonials from ROTH’S 2016 Bitterroot Ranch Retreat

Joanne Pulis of British Columbia
The combination of Anna’s wonderful teaching, receiving Reiki attunements here at the beautiful Bitterroot Ranch, practicing on each other and sharing with the horses was a magical, once-in-a-lifetime experience. I am grateful and feel blessed for all the beautiful people, animals and all I have learned and experienced.  My heart is full!
Naomi McKinstry of Loxahatchee, FL
Amazing.  Once-in-a-lifetime experience!  Everything from the horsemanship, Reiki, and Reiki on horses was personally moving and inspiring.  Supportive learning environment and for all aspects.  So grateful to have had this experience with Anna at Bitterroot Ranch, couldn’t have been more perfect.
Mary Ehrgood of Oconomowoc, WI
The two days of horse communication and connection increased my awareness of my language of the horse and then two days of Reiki levels 1 and 2 deepened my awareness of my values and commitments and gifts.  The last day of Reiki with horses integrated my previous days and I was open to the personalities and beauty of each individual horse in ways I had never been before.  The combination of horse communication through understanding the language of the horse and the deep integrity and power of the beautiful Reiki communication gave me immense learning. And Bitterroot Ranch, the people, horses and land are the best I could have imagined.
Carolyn Schieren of Louisville, CO
Taking a workshop with Anna Twinney is a journey of mind, body and soul, facilitating transformational change in visceral understanding of the essence and language of Equus, and how they as sentient beings reveal how human shows up in the world now, while opening doors on how to be moving forward.
Cynthia Starks of Dubois, WY
Anna has been a wonderful teacher of natural horsemanship as well as Reiki.  Thank you, Anna, for sharing your knowledge and heartfelt gift of love and empathy; compassion and energy.
Dan Starks of Dubois, WY
I will always remember this week and often use what I learned.  Thank you!
Nancy Neafus of Morrison, CO
As an intuitive energy healer I have often been reluctant to learn Reiki.  I will be incorporating Reiki into my healing now as I have found it to be a beautiful, powerful, love-based modality.  Anna’s ability to read people and horses combined with her teaching methods, passion and compassion, opened new opportunities for me for personal growth and development.  It has been a magical week!
Janet Lunnon, Lakewood, CO
Anna Twinney and the Bitterroot Ranch…an unforgettable experience!  Anna is The Horse Whisperer Extraordinaire and her ability to demonstrate and teach the language of the horse is beyond amazing.  Her compassion for horses and for her students is beyond compare.  I arrived at Bitterroot Ranch depleted and empty, and I left with a full heart and a new lease on life, and a new appreciation for energy healing…for BOTH the horse and the human soul!  Thank you, Anna!
Andrea Pomarico of Castle Rock, CO
Divine, transformative and poetic beyond words!  The expansive heart connection I experienced between horse, human, land and Source was undeniably magical during our lovely week stay at Bitterroot Ranch.  The amplified clarity and intensity in which I am now able to intuit and channel energy is so much more prominent after receiving my Reiki Master attunement, which is the perfect compliment to the many other vibrational healing modalities I already utilize.  I am in awe of Anna’s unique gift of seamlessly blending strangers with group experiences that speak to all levels of ones mental, physical, and emotional awareness while allowing for very personalized, individual growth.
Imagine that you have your home and family and the days roll by just as they should. You are free and living as you were made to. That’s happiness isn’t it? Living as you should.

One day you are chased by an army and are ripped from it all, seperated and made to stand in a dirt lot. This is the fate of Wyoming’s wild horses if we don’t acted. The state where Buffalo Bill Cody made a town. Known for it’s Wild West history, may not have the symbol of that freedom on it’s plains anymore.

On February 6-8, 2013, the BLM Wyoming BLM will convene a Resource Advisory Council meeting in Rock Springs to discuss public lands issues — including plans for wild horses– in this region of Wyoming. The public comment period will be held on Feb. 8.

The BLM’s plans for wild horses in this area include removing all the wild horses from the Wyoming Checkerboard, a 2 million acre swath of public and private land that is home to nearly half of the state’s remaining mustang populations. The devastating plan was first revealed in a scoping notice for a planned roundup in the Adobe Town and Salt Wells Creek Herd Management Areas (HMAs).

Your voice is urgently needed to speak up for Wyoming’s wild horses at this meeting and against the ranching interests who seek the total elimination of federally-protected wild horses from this vast and critically-important habitat area.

What: BLM Resource Advisory Committee Meeting Public Comment Period

When: February 8, 2013 at 8 a.m. (Public Comment Period)

             February 6, 2013 at 3 p.m. (Wild Horse Discussion

Where: BLM Rock Springs Field Office, 280 Highway 191 North, Rock Springs, Wyoming

The Resource Advisory Councils (RACs) are citizen advisory panels that advise the BLM on management issues. Unfortunatley, the agency routinely stacks these RACs with anti-wild horse, pro-livestock members. At this RAC meeting, the wild horse discussion and public comment period are spread over three days.

Your attendance is most urgently needed at the Public Comment Session on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 8 a.m.

Please contact us via email if you are able to attend. We will connect you with other interested wild horse advocates, some of whom are traveling up to  Rock Springs from Denver and Colorado Springs to speak up on behalf of the mustangs.

Thank you very much, as always, for your caring and dedication to saving America’s wild horses and burros!

ROTH had Another Amazing Time at Bitterroot Ranch

This year’s Healing for Horses put the treat back in retreat. With nice weather, a fool moon, good people and, of course, amazing horses.

Heres what the participants have to say about it:

The whole week has literally been a dream come true for me. The deep learning and connection with and from the horses and Anna is life affirming and changing Waking up to a beautiful sunrise and going to sleep by the light of the full moon is a wonderful memory. I am very grateful for the fun and holistic learning.

– Catherine E. Below, MN

This week at the Healing For Horses Clinic with Anna Twinney at the Bitterroot Ranch as far exceeded my expectations. I have gained a stronger sense of self and a new way of being with horses. Thank you, Anna for sharing your passion! I will forever be grateful.

– Sharon Wisher, KY

To say that Anna’s teachings are profound is a cliche. What is striking is the depth of the   information communicated non-verbally.

–  Jane Joy Sparks, IN

My experience at Bitterroot and ROTH with anna was an amazing journey. Bitterroot was an oasis from my busy life on the East coast. With my background mainly in riding I am now very comfortable using Anna’s safe techniques around horses. I have the skills and confidence with groundwork I never had before. The Reiki with Anna and the other students was life shifting, we all experienced surprises and connections through the whole process.Thank you Anna and Bitterroot!

– Sandra Waters, MA

My ten days spent at the wonderful Bitterroot Ranch in Wyoming were beyond my expectations. Bayard, Mel and their family were gracious hosts and their staff attentive and helpful. Anna Twinney’s weeklong Reiki for Horses clinic gave me fascinating insights into the language of the horse. Anna is a gifted spiritual teacher and I feel our paths haver crossed for a reason. She has gained a disciple in me. I extend my gratitude to the beautiful horses and 4 leggeds who call this home. Thank you all for sharing a piece of paradise with me.

– Pilar Bauta, NY

You wanted President Obama’s help saving the mustangs? Well here’s your chance…

Let’s sign this petition on whitehouse.gov and maybe we can finally get the administration to see the importance of protecting our wild horses over securing corporate profits at the expense of the mustangs and burros. We only need 5000 signatures to be heard. But imagine if we had 10,000 or 100,000! Let’s make it happen!
