Peppermint for President!

Peppermint

We all have our stories of woe to tell, this is for certain. Mine includes a major spinal fusion surgery at a very young age, nerve damage in numerous places, premature arthritis, and myriad other little fun things that come with the body of someone who really lived and breathed each and every day with horses in her early life and has the scars to prove it. I was hard on my body, riding was hard on my body, and some of my less-graceful encounters with horses on the ground have definitely been hard on my body. If only I had known then what I know now about safety…if only I had met Anna when I was 12 instead of…well, a couple decades later.

Living in Colorado as well can aggravate some of these issues, as the cold and the altitude are often not kind to joints; neither are some of the dry, summer conditions and the ever-shifting Barometric Pressure, but for someone like me who is probably never going to move because I LOVE it here, and who cannot take prolonged Opiate medications, nor prolonged anti-inflammatories to help with chronic pain, what is there left to do?

My friend, I introduce you to Peppermint Oil. I say this with full awareness that if someone had told me I could temper fear-inducing nerve pain, muscle spasms that cause me to utter things I probably shouldn’t, and joint pain that I will likely have the rest of my life, I would have laughed at your naivete. How cute! You want to help treat my pain with what is essentially a Christmas candy? Well, older, wiser, and more open-minded, this is what I am telling you is possible.

I don’t just use Peppermint for my chronic pain on my back and sciatic nerve, I have used it for sore throats, tight chest, coughs, sunburns, headaches, upset stomach, acid reflux, tooth pain, restless legs at night, mosquito bites, and, probably the most important for someone like me who is afraid sometimes of just how long the pain will last, how bad it might get, whether I will have to go to the ER, whether I will have to miss work, whether I will be able to take care of my horses, clean the barn, feed the dogs, drive my car, sit, lay down, sleep…and on and on ad infinitum, GROUNDING.

When I inhale and take a deep, lung-filling breath of Peppermint, I am present. The problems, the worries, the future concerns that may never come to pass are gone because I am grounded quite instantly. So, in addition to the relief of physical ailments is the added relief of anxiety. There’s just something so very healing about it because it soothes me, mind, body, and spirit, just when I need it most.

I put Peppermint directly on my skin anywhere, but some people will prefer a carrier oil because it can be quite strong. You’ll want to wash your hands and make sure you don’t get any in your eyes, of course, as even after washing my hands thoroughly I have found it in my eyes on occasion.

After having doctors tell me I would be on a number of medications for the rest of my life, medications that are in the spotlight right now and the focus of hot debate, I know I have a more holistic option with this natural approach that often gets me over the pain hump, and before I know it I have moved on mentally just enough for the body to relax and remedy whatever was the issue at the time. It is because of this I say, Peppermint for President! May the prospect and healing possibility of Peppermint grace your life the way it has mine.

Love Always,

Lacey Knight

Not the Homecoming For Which I Had Hoped…You Just Might Save Your Horse’s Life with Some of These Helpful Tips:

You Just Might Save Your Horses Life with Some of These Helpful Tips:

Nearly a year ago I arrived home after an amazing Healing Horses experience at Bitterroot Ranch in WY.  Happy to be home and spend time with my herd, I ventured out on the ranch Monday morning and my equine soul mate, Excalibur, was already calling me.  He immediately caught my attention with his rolling nicker and stance.

A bout of springtime Laminitis had come calling, and I sprung into action.

We thought that springtime would be a good time to share some of the things you can do during a Laminitis emergency while waiting for your vet to arrive.

Using some of these suggestions, you might just save your horse’s life.

Check and/or integrate:
Gums for color, mucus and capillary refill

A FULL RECOVERY

We treated Excalibur Holistically, and nearly entirely naturally, only giving him Bute when it was absolutely necessary to control his pain.   Now, almost a year later, Excalibur is out with his herd, grazing the pastures that are suitable for his dietary needs, with not too many sugary grasses to which he can have access. He regularly gallops with his girls and lives the life of a free horse once more!

The Sunset Ride: Written the Day After My Riding Accident Back in January

The sunset ride is only just coming back to me now, it feels like a dream. Gradually I’m piecing things together. The last moments I remember were seeing my mare trot towards us calling from the other side of the fence in dim light. I was close to home. My last thought was: “All you have to do is stay on, you will stop eventually.” From then on it’s all a blank. I have no recollection. I’m not sure how long I was knocked out and unconscious lying on the ground, or how I came off my horse, how I walked back home having her by my side.

He tells me I called for him inside the house telling him something was wrong, but I didn’t know what. My face told the story for me. How much time went by is a mystery to me, but it was dark. I have no recollection.

I “awoke” on the staircase with a familiar face taking care of me, gradually recognizing my surroundings and yet not knowing what time of year it was, only to be startled to see Christmas decorations. I knew my name and my son’s name. I didn’t recognize what I was wearing and thought I had just woken up from a dream. Why was there so much interest when I had just awoken? My hubby was naturally concerned with my severe confusion and after I insisted on showering we spent Saturday evening in emergency trauma.

I walked in by myself with extreme lower back pain, it reminded me of going into labor and walking like I was about to give birth. Surprisingly, I had no headache despite feeling extreme nausea. The trauma unit took my horse riding situation seriously and put me through all kinds of scans to finally determine it was no worse than a concussion. With debris tangled in my hair, my helmet most likely saved my life.

I’ve been through a vaulting (Gymnastics on horseback) accident, head-on car accident, and have been the passenger in a rolled over Police vehicle. I’ve been assaulted on numerous occasions and have been kicked, bitten, yanked, dragged, and fallen off horses a number of times, but never experienced broken bones or a concussion before. I consider myself well-taken-care-of.

I am thankful my Creator did not call me home just yet and I was brought to tears this morning when my 5-year old son stated: “but Mummy you were wearing a helmet, right?” He already knows the importance of this protection. ” I would love you forever…” he said, as he contemplated his thoughts. Instead, I am surrounded by angels to learn lessons I have yet to discover.

I will take care of myself and nurture those pieces that have been bruised as I care about my body. This time, instead of treating my body simply as a machine that needs servicing I will feel the love for myself. My life will never be the same as I unravel the effects of this fall, but I do know it will be better.

What Oil I chose to Help Mitigate Effects of the Fall and to Regain my

Brain Power

Brain power

Brain Power Essential Oil is an excellent blend of essential oils that is specifically designed to bring mental clarity and greater focus that is sometimes associated with mental fatigue or a long day at work.

It contains oils that are very high in sesquiterpenes, which support healthy brain function.  Use it before a meeting or competition to give you that mental edge. Or use it to help you focus during meditation. Either way, Brain Power is a welcome blend.

Brain Power essential oil is one of my favorite essential oil blends and I often use it when working with animals.  Alternate it with Clarity Essential Oil and see which one works better for you and your companions. Combine with any blend to make it more effective!

Moving Straight Ahead

He had begun to “run out” during training and to not do his job, thus causing danger to his young rider who was learning steer wrestling. He cut to the chase during our session together – no small talk, as he valued his time and realized his voice needed to come across clearly. His honesty showed just how he ran left, leaving his rider hanging short of the steer.

He shared about the saddle fit (the one that fitted) and the pressure on his withers with his rider leaning to the right. He had the solution too.  Through detailed description, he showed levels and location of pain throughout his body taken care of by the chiropractor – while asking for ongoing support.

“Ridden hard and put away wet” in his time – expectations for him had been high. This rider was different; he was sensitive. And yet there was fear surrounding the consequences of him running out from others with harsh spurs whose expectations stole his confidence and returned him to innocence. His mental and emotional anxiety had grown and it seemed he had internalized his feelings, ultimately manifesting physical side effects. He gave all the reasons as to why he behaved this way, so there would be no more speculation, but instead, clarity. He gave answers to questions and paved the way forward. They offered alternative therapies and guidance…this was to be a new way of training and if up for the task, they would become one as they explored their partnership.

Just a week later Anna received the following from a grateful Mother of a young man who can now begin to really explore his talent for a sport he loves with his willing partner, Splash.

Anna – I thought you might like to hear this – Will practiced with Splash today (with steers) and he used Peace and Calming Oil on the heart space/forehead/and front leg acupressure points to calm the soul, Valor on either side of the spine from the solar plexus back to the Root Chakra, did visualization with him and thought communication, and with the use of his new gel pad on the withers,…had PERFECT RUNS!!!!!!! He has not done that in a year!!! He ran perfectly straight and did not veer left even a step! Will praised him and had another chiropractic adjustment done afterward. COULD NOT BE MORE EXCITED!!!! Thank you sooo much!

Moments of loving, learning, and sharing for ROTH’s Beloved Hounds

The Golden Years

He has defied death many times throughout his life-time and this week he took it upon himself to educate us all. It was not to be private, but instead reach the hearts of many. With a rapidly declining outside appearance and body, Merlin continues to amaze all who meet him. At 16 1/2 (that’s nineties for you and me) he has kept his dignity, strength, loyalty, drive for life, and commitment to our unique and special partnership. These are just a few words to describe this miracle boy.

During the first week of our Animal Communication Mentorship Program, he insisted on being in class, at first coming down with us to the lower pasture, something he hasn’t done in a long time.  And later, due to some troublesome and bloody discharges, he triggered individual’s beliefs and emotions, taking them back to their own animals…to last moments, decisions they had made, advice they had been given, feelings they encountered, peer pressure they had received. Many thought he was dying but Merlin soldiered on. Our hearts as one – his and mine, and the never-waning love, support, and limitless dedication from Vin. Our vet and friend was close-by should he call for her.

We listened to him, providing love, support and strength. He spoke to us through inner knowing. We were nudged to give him Dynamite’s Trace Minerals in support of his internal bleeding, together with Helichrysum essential oil. Each day became his, Oliver’s, and Chance’s birthdays, in celebration of all life.

He rests better than he has rested in years and came back with a growing life force and surprised all.  Stronger than before he is still with us. A life lesson for everyone as they go through these golden years.  Our gratitude is overflowing as you were there for us and we there for him.

—————————–

The boys have entered the final “acts” of their colorful lives. We have journeyed far together through many states and situations, and created a full, beautiful story together. Oliver, since his diagnosis, and riddled with life-threatening disease, is at his happiest. He has begun to chase the horses again (despite our best efforts to stop him), jumps on the bed and has a renewed zest for life.

The beauty in his eyes says it all. He was gifted another chance after his diagnosis and surgery.  We were fortunate to be in the situation to afford to prolong his life and receive the biopsy. Now it’s up to us as a family to bring forth the comfort for his body and take care of him as he has us.

The unconditional love they give naturally will be repaid as we care for them as we would any family member. For they are family.  As their worlds become just that little bit smaller, we will fill it with their desires. 🙂

We wish that for you too. Listen to your hearts to discover their silent and secret language of love.

December2017-Benefit-webinar

Our FREE Annual End of the Year Webinar Series is back!

Every year we put together a series of info-packed webinars to help you and your animal companions live happier, healthier lives, and create Spirit-lifting relationships.  We’ve done it again this year with a great twist!

The series will again be completely free. And the theme will be supporting, assisting, and healing animals in crisis.  In the last few months we have seen horrific tragedies.  Friends and family have been affected by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria, along with the wildfires in California, and beyond, earthquakes, shootings, and more.  The list seems never ending. Whether they be at the hand of man or Mother Nature, it appears that unprecedented violence, destruction and tragedy are becoming commonplace in our world today.
Often we see animals, maybe even our own, suffering from a global catastrophe, a local tragedy, or even a personal event.  We want to help but we don’t know how.  Or what we try doesn’t work.
Join Anna and a few of her trusted advisors and friends to learn how to cope with trauma and crisis should you or your animals encounter such circumstances.
We have a powerful line-up for you this year:
Nov 29th: From Trauma to Triumph: Supporting Animals During Crisis through Animal Communication.
Dec 7th: Essential Oils for Crisis & Trauma: with special guest Carol Komitor of Healing Touch for Animals.
Dec 21st: Nutritional Balance: Body, Mind & Spirit: with BOTH Dynamite Gold Executives, Dr. Regan Golob and Judy Sinner.
Dec 28th: Heroes for Horses: Learn how Natural Horsemanship or Horse Whispering can play an important role in helping horses cope during times of stress, trauma, or crisis.
And here’s the fantastic twist! While the webinar series remains 100% FREE, we have teamed up with some amazing people to help some of our planetary companions who really need your support.
As I’m sure you know, Puerto Rico was devastated by Hurricane Maria.  The country is a long way away from recovery, and many areas still don’t even have power! One of those devastated areas is the small Puerto Rican island of Vieques.  While other areas have received aid, Vieques hasn’t even gotten enough food and water for the population that live there.
A GoFundMe campaign has been created for the famous band of Wild Horses that live on the island, and they are super close to reaching their goal!  We want to see that goal met so the horses can get the help they need.
Any amount is welcome and will help.  We hope you will join us in this small, but very achievable, mission.
Thank you!  We will see you soon.

Donate to Hurricane Relief Today

Hurricane Maria entered Vieques, PR, with over 155 mph winds and took everything the Viequenses had worked for their whole lives.  The only help from the government so far has been the National Guard supplying some food and water, but not enough for the whole island.  As CNN stated, while Vieques Island is only 7 miles from the mainland of Puerto Rico, it might as well be 7000 miles away …

How Exactly Will Your Donation Support the Cause?
Vieques is home to a wild horse population who was impacted by the hurricane.  Grazing lands flooded and food became scarce.  Donations through this link will go to support the nutritional needs of the Wild Horses of the island.  Donate and help the horses who would otherwise be discarded as people are the main focus of relief efforts thus far.
