Moments of loving, learning, and sharing for ROTH’s Beloved Hounds

The Golden Years

He has defied death many times throughout his life-time and this week he took it upon himself to educate us all. It was not to be private, but instead reach the hearts of many. With a rapidly declining outside appearance and body, Merlin continues to amaze all who meet him. At 16 1/2 (that’s nineties for you and me) he has kept his dignity, strength, loyalty, drive for life, and commitment to our unique and special partnership. These are just a few words to describe this miracle boy.

During the first week of our Animal Communication Mentorship Program, he insisted on being in class, at first coming down with us to the lower pasture, something he hasn’t done in a long time.  And later, due to some troublesome and bloody discharges, he triggered individual’s beliefs and emotions, taking them back to their own animals…to last moments, decisions they had made, advice they had been given, feelings they encountered, peer pressure they had received. Many thought he was dying but Merlin soldiered on. Our hearts as one – his and mine, and the never-waning love, support, and limitless dedication from Vin. Our vet and friend was close-by should he call for her.

We listened to him, providing love, support and strength. He spoke to us through inner knowing. We were nudged to give him Dynamite’s Trace Minerals in support of his internal bleeding, together with Helichrysum essential oil. Each day became his, Oliver’s, and Chance’s birthdays, in celebration of all life.

He rests better than he has rested in years and came back with a growing life force and surprised all.  Stronger than before he is still with us. A life lesson for everyone as they go through these golden years.  Our gratitude is overflowing as you were there for us and we there for him.

—————————–

The boys have entered the final “acts” of their colorful lives. We have journeyed far together through many states and situations, and created a full, beautiful story together. Oliver, since his diagnosis, and riddled with life-threatening disease, is at his happiest. He has begun to chase the horses again (despite our best efforts to stop him), jumps on the bed and has a renewed zest for life.

The beauty in his eyes says it all. He was gifted another chance after his diagnosis and surgery.  We were fortunate to be in the situation to afford to prolong his life and receive the biopsy. Now it’s up to us as a family to bring forth the comfort for his body and take care of him as he has us.

The unconditional love they give naturally will be repaid as we care for them as we would any family member. For they are family.  As their worlds become just that little bit smaller, we will fill it with their desires. 🙂

We wish that for you too. Listen to your hearts to discover their silent and secret language of love.

Trace Minerals to the Rescue for the Dynamite Duckling, Pauli!

The Dynamite Duckling!
One of our ducklings didn’t seem to be able to hatch properly. Some of the little ones just can’t quite make it out of the shell on their own. That was the case with this one. After a day of struggle I decided to help cracking the egg. That’s always a problem because the timing is so crucial. In this case it was stuck in the egg too long and had mobility issues (eyes not open, right side of body weak). At the same time it wasn’t finished with absorbing the yolk. Ducklings (and chicks) usually absorb the egg yolk through the navel just before hatching. Sometimes they don’t finish and are left with a hernia and some yolk sack sticking out. Considering the environment they are in, a deadly infection is almost not preventable. I decided to apply Dynamite’s trace mineral concentrate (a liquid) to the wound every couple hours for a day. I also put half a drop in the drinking water. I placed the duckling in a towel (on a heating pad) to help it into the right position. Left alone it would have been constantly on its back, unable to turn over due to the weakness of the right side. We also did a bit of “physio therapy” for 24 hours. After that it was a happy little duckling eating and drinking well and almost maneuvering perfectly. Now it is growing like a normal duck (which is very fast!) and has moved out into the outside enclosure with its friends. We gave it the name Pauli/Pauline (it’s a little too early to know the gender). I am always glad to have a happy ending! This story is hopefully useful to somebody for a variety of emergency situation. The trace mineral concentrate is absolutely amazing! The hernia was completely closed after 24 hours and fluff was covering the spot. Normally a problem like that is a death sentence. A wonderful product to have around for a variety of situations!

Thanks be to Carolina Baertsch for her wonderful instincts and intuition about which Dynamite product to best use in this situation.  Truly a mother to all species, she is!  Best of luck to the little duckling in all future efforts!
