Gratitude for In Partnership with Horses from His Mountaintop Ministries

Many of you know that in late October Anna chose to donate nearly 1000 copies of her latest DVD, In Partnership with Horses, to PATH certified, non-profit organizations who practice Equine Facilitated Therapy and Equine Facilitated Learning.  This was a huge undertaking just to get them all packaged and mailed out, not to mention the cost of the shipping and the DVDs themselves, which Anna so generously took care of as part of her gift.  These went to people, some of whom have never heard of ROTH or Anna’s mission, and from whom we may never hear again, so a lot of faith was involved that the gift would touch their hearts and reach the horses and the people Anna loves to help because they support us in our growth and rehabilitation.  Well, the letters and messages of gratitude began rolling in, and it all seems more than worth the effort and the funds to have realized this goal.  Below you will find one such letter out of many.  We are so pleased to hear that our gesture is not only going unnoticed, but that people are now curious about how they can be educated about the human-horse partnership, and that people are open to the experience of understanding horse as healer, coach, messenger, and teacher.

This is from an organization called His Mountaintop Ministries in Marysville, California.

Dear Anna,

Thank you for the DVDs and thinking about us here at H.M.M.. I am so excited to see them because I also put my horses feelings and thinking before people’s. Our horses are part of the program and what they feel and think/say matters and our volunteers spend lots of time getting to understand the horses. And of course, horses have off days just like us and our students and we MUST be able to see, hear, and understand Then and only then, are we able to help with the situation.

Just wanted to say Thank You and let you know here at H.M.M. we believe the same, and we act accordingly. I truly look forward to seeing these and to showing them to our volunteers. FYI: I have just opened the packet and wanted to send this to you after reading your intro letter.

Sincerely,

Doc Livingston
Founder and CEO of HMM.

MASU, an organization worth supporting

ROTH has gotten word of some amazing work in being done in South Africa. Check out the news their first newsletter!
MASU NEWS Issue 1 October 2012
MASU (Mobile Animal Sterilisation Unit) is a concept which has been discussed by welfare organisations for many years, but became a reality due to the hard work and dedication of volunteers, donors and the Animal Rescue Organisation. MASU is a custom made mobile sterilisation theatre, a first of its kind in the Western Cape. MASU is registered with the SAVC and is managed by the Animal Rescue Organisation, a registered NGO with level 4 BBBEE Status.
MASU will be used to deliver sterilisation and primary healthcare to animals living in indigent communities.
Kayamandi Pilot Sterilisation Project:
In September, MASU traveled to Kayamandi outside Stellenbosch, Cape Town South Africa, a township in desperate need of sterilisation services. ARO staff on MASU sterilised 55 animals over 3 days, with the 4th day cancelled due to heavy rain and flooding. The Pilot Sterilisation Project is a government funded project. ARO worked together with Envirovet, AWS Stellenbosch and PETS who are all members of the Cape Animal Welfare Forum.
ARO would like to thank and acknowledge all those who made this wonderful vehicle possible – we could not have done this without you!
MASU is dependent on public funding. We appeal to you for support in keeping this essential welfare service mobile.
Here’s to saving thousands of lives!

Burned Mama Dog Needs Your Help

ANABELLE

WARNING…GRAPHIC IMAGE ON HER WEB PAGE.
PLEASE, BE RESPECTFUL AND DO NOT SEND TO
ANYONE WITHOUT WARNING THEM.

Anabelle was abandoned in a pen with two nursing puppies in Laurens County, SC.  She is a 1-2 year old Australian Shepherd.  The original rescue group that went out to help her contacted us to help. They thought she had been shot based on the appearance of holes in her skin.  She was covered with maggots from some injury.  For people that don’t realize this, it is because of the maggots eating all of the dead tissue and infection that she was still alive.  Anabelle was cleaned up and taken to the vet but this was way more than they could handle.  After going to the vet, her skin began to peel off in sheets. Her entire body was taken over by a horrible infection. We now realized what we were dealing with.  Someone had poured acid all over the back half of this poor mama dog.  She had been in excruciating pain for about 6 days before this was discovered.

We had her picked up at the veterinary hospital last night and taken to the Emergency Veterinary Hospital in Columbia, SC where they are equipped and qualified to deal with this type of injury.  The doctors worked all through the night to keep this wonderful dog alive.  I am happy to say, she is stable but will need every prayer and every penny we have to save her.  She will be at the surgical facility for about four weeks.  She is anemic and will probably have to have a skin graft and possible transfusion but we are determined to save this beautiful girl.  Her two surviving puppies are in foster care.

I cannot emphasize this enough, do not look at the picture if you have a weak stomach.  Look at the great dog at the top and just know that she needs our help.  I have chosen to only put one graphic picture of her on her web page.

Please help us,
help her by donating.

An Endorsement from Frank Bell & his 20,000th child?

Hello Horse Enthusiasts:

I am constantly on the lookout for products that genuinely benefit horses. They are few and far between with a whole lot of fluff in the middle. I’ve recently become acquainted with a true equestrian and his company- EquiPedic.

It is my strong opinion that the pad is the most important piece of equipment that you need to own. The number of horses with sore backs is alarming. When the pain becomes severe, the horse becomes dangerous – period. With safety as our #1 goal, this is truly a safety issue. I urge you to thoroughly peruse the Equipedic Site.   Since we’re dealers for this product, we can save you money on this already affordable saddle pad.

Another important note – I am on the Board of a national non-profit with a very simple mission: The Kind Acts Foundation offers the nation’s teachers an easy and free way to honor their students for kind and compassionate actions.

Founded in 2004 by my good friend Dave Hall, we will honor our 20,000th child this school year at www.KindActs.org.

Will you consider a tax-deductible donation to help perpetuate this wonderful cause? Details are at the Make A Donation link on the web site. Online and postal/check options are available.

Safe Riding Always,

Frank Bell
