Anna had a great time in NY at the Pegasus Therapy Riding!

The pictures captured are truly amazing! Check them out here and then look at all the other wonderful things they have going on.

Pegasus recently hosted three days of customized horsemanship clinics with world-renowned equine specialist Anna Twinney, founder of Reach Out to Horses. She is known around the globe for her highly acclaimed work as an Equine Specialist, Natural Horsemanship Clinician, Animal Communicator and Karuna Reiki Master. Her gentle yet highly effective methodologies are based exclusively in the horse’s own language, including non-verbal communication, animal communication and the use of energy. This combination creates a stress-free, trust-based, true partnership between horse and human.

Anna worked exclusively with our staff on November 30 and held a public clinic on December 1. In appreciation of our volunteers’ many contributions to our programs, Pegasus arranged a special volunteers-only clinic with Anna on December 2.

The staff clinic primarily was an open-format clinic designed to address specific questions we had about our therapeutic horses. Pegasus Farm has several new horses on the property in varying stages of evaluation, and Anna’s input was extremely helpful. She also helped staff get a better understanding of our existing herd.

The public clinic featured three main topics. “De-Mystify the Round Pen” demonstrated the many advantages to training and evaluating a horse using a round pen. During the “Muscle Testing” module, Anna showed attendees how to explore the body, mind and spirit connection with the horse to identify what he needs to be happy, healthy and whole. “Animal Communication” gave attendees tools to discover the world of interspecies communication and explore a whole new relationship with their horse.

Pegasus hosted the volunteer clinic to thank our many helping hands and give them the opportunity to learn beneficial new tools for handling our herd as well as their own horses. Topics included Horse Communications and Herd Dynamics, Horses Have Fears Too, Problem-Solving During Program, Effective Leading Techniques, and Effective Sidewalking Techniques.

Many thanks to Anna for sharing her expertise with our Pegasus community, and thank you again to all who participated.
