Call of the Horses December 6
Take a journey with three of today’s top equine professional women as they share their personal journeys and the life-changing experiences they have had with horses. Susan Williams artist, and founder of windhorseOne; Anna Twinney, natural horsewoman, animal communicator and founder of Reach Out to Horses; and Melisa Pearce, psychotherapist and founder of Touched By A Horse and The Equine Gestalt Coaching Method, will explore the depth, the meaning and the profound lessons our horses have waiting for us, if we are only willing to listen.
A percentage of the proceeds from their “Call of the Horses” audio book supports ongoing efforts towards helping the American Mustang.
Tuesday, December 6. 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Chautauqua Community House. Tickets available October 6 here.
Giants Among Men: Helping Elephants and People Live Together in One of the Harshest Regions of the World March 6
In a groundbreaking effort over the past nine years, The WILD Foundation – a Boulder-based nonprofit organization – has worked with researchers, communities, governments and schools to protect a unique herd of elephants in Mali, West Africa. Encroaching deserts and human settlements have pushed this herd of 550 elephants to the only remaining place they can live – the arid desert in Central Mali. This unique herd traverses the longest annual migration ever recorded, traveling some 400 kilometers each year in search of food and water. In this evening presentation, WILD’s President Vance Martin will tell the story of these desert elephants, their ‘great migration and WILD’s ongoing work to ensure the herd’s long-term survival through community engagement and mobilization.
Tuesday, March 6. 5:30 p.m. Chautauqua Community House. Purchase tickets here.
