We are very excited to report that we are well on our way to rescuing 12 beautiful foals from the clutches of the Canadian slaughterhouse and we’re not stopping there!
In our efforts we will also rescue the breeding mares and stallions, providing sanctuary for them, as well as shutting down a former P.M.U. breeding farm!
But we still need your help!
The amazing details are in the press release below, but the short of it is that Reach Out to Horses is teaming up with our friends at Equine Angels Rescue Sanctuary in New Milford, CT, Ray of Light Farm in East Haddam, CT and Equine Voices Rescue & Sanctuary in Amado, AZ for this inspired project.
As we said above we can downsize this farm in Canada and rescue ALL the horses in the program. The mares and gelded stallions will stay in sanctuary up in Canada, 6 foals will go to Equine Voices where they will be well taken care of until they find their forever homes and 6 will go to Ray of Light Farm where they will participate in the Week of Foal Gentling with Anna, helping them as they make their way to their forever homes.
These opportunities don’t come around every day and we are so excited to be a part of it. But we can’t do it alone! Even with this incredible team of compassionate, competent and inspiring folks, we still need your help.
How can you help?
A day’s salary could literally pay for the life of one of these foals. How about giving up coffee for a week to help with the transport? Could you put together a fundraiser? It all adds up and, although heartbreaking to believe, any amount will help give these young souls a second chance at life.
We are also looking to find not only funding for this unique rescue but homes for these foals as well. Imagine adopting one of these beautiful beings, especially after they have gone to school for a week with International Horsewoman Anna Twinney. If you can’t adopt them perhaps you could sponsor one of them or even be a foster home until they can find their forever homes.
There are so many ways to help that one of them is bound to be within your reach!
Thank you and we hope to see you in November!
