RMSAAM July Newsletter
July • 2011
Celebrating eight years in business inspires me to reflect back on the time when I did everything myself. I was teacher, enrollment coordinator, recruiter, advertiser, and everything in between! Wow, how things have changed in eight years… and for the better! I am very lucky to have such an amazing group of people to work with who feel as passionate about the school as I do. I feel equally lucky to have so many amazing students and graduates!
To celebrate our Anniversary, I would like to give back to our students for the many years they have given us. I hope many of you can take advantage of the great offer below celebrating eight amazing years!
Warm wishes to you and your animals, Lisa Speaker

Happy Independence Day!

Keep your Pets Calm During the Fireworks!
Your dog or cat cowers as the popping gets louder. Whistling wheezing sounds ripple across the air. They run for cover; frantic to find shelter. Whether you and your family and friends or neighbors, are the ones doing the popping, the fact remains: your pet can’t handle the noise, and is frightened beyond reason or logic. This is something your pet goes through once a year every year; Independence Day. July 4, 1776, was the day that the adoption of the Declaration of Independence was signed. Everyone is enjoying concerts, parades, fireworks, and let’s not forget the most important thing… the reason to fly the American flag!
However, our pets don’t care about these mundane ‘human’ affairs. Some things to consider about your pet’s safety: make a comfortable space in a quiet room away from the major impact of fireworks, if enjoying the fireworks in your own back yard, be sure to visit and comfort your pet periodically throughout the night. For severe anxiety reactions such as, shaking, whining, barking, or crying, try some of these natural supplements: Rescue Remedy for pets, or Happy Traveler. A nice massage will also help your pet. You can also play some soothing music in the background, and most importantly, make sure your dogs and cats are wearing their ID tags, as they will run fast, and hard, to find a place to hide! Have the best of both worlds this 4th of July, by keeping your pet safe and calm, while enjoying good company, good food, and beautiful fireworks!
Happy 4th of July from the staff at RMSAAM!

NEW! Equine Massage Level 3 in August!
The finishing touches are being put on the new Equine Massage Level 3 manual as we speak! This exciting new 100-page manual is all about Massage and Care for the Senior Horse. The author, Shelley Sheets, spent a week at the Best Friends Horse Sanctuary while writing this manual and was deeply inspired by the Senior horses living there. This course includes advanced massage techniques, such as lymphatic massage, and massage for the nervous system, as well as palliative care, pain control, and more.
We are very excited to add this new level of Equine Massage to our existing programs. If you have any questions about the curriculum give us a call at 303-660-9390 or 866-903-6462.
