You are invited to a very special event. . .

(AND the last evening public expo event here for 2012)

We are very excited to be opening our final Move Toward Love event of 2012!

Two years ago Anna and Melisa created this event and it has grown and deepened with wonderful results for our clients and their horses at home. We have some amazing women from across the US joining us for this intense and private workshop weekend. HOWEVER. . . PRIOR to the event you are invited to join us on Friday evening and learn about our philosophies and techniques in working with horses… and moving away from Fear and into Love through horses.

Both Anna and Melisa will share their lifetime of work through demonstrations as well as entertain questions from the attendees that may be about your particular horses or understanding.

The event is held in an indoor arena so no matter the weather please come ahead. . . and share a cup of coffee or cocoa with like minded people .. laugh learn and share!

We hope you will join us for a fun filled and educational evening as we kick off our event weekend!

Client Testimonial

Hi Anna,

Your classes are always excellent, but session #1 was like WOW! Recently I had visited a horse facility where a friend was taking horseback riding lessons. My first impression was that the horses were dead. Evidently they’re trained to be “safe.” I got a glimpse of their training methods and heard their lack of respect for the horse, but I couldn’t quite figure out what was wrong until I heard these three words in session #1: dominance, flooding, and freeze. I think these horses are in freeze mode. If I’m right, it must be a horrific stress for them. This insight also made me realize how lucky I am that I was introduced to horses by you. It was your Reiki for Horses class a couple of years ago at Equine Voices. I don’t think I’d ever been so far outside my comfort zone, but you gently helped me make the leap from comfort zone to where the magic is. That class was the first step on a journey that brings me joy.

Thank you for your passion, for your insights, and for being you. Sally

REACH OUT & GIVE BACK

Recently, ROTH Instructor Robert Raine reached out to horses while helping the fight against Cancer in Sweden.

He donated 100% of the proceeds to this cause.

JOB WELL DONE ROB!!!!

Greetings from Rob Raine in Sweden,

Reach Out to Horses pioneers and sets the standard – leadership with empathy and understanding.

Last weekend Reach Out to Horses (Sweden) did something unique in Swedish equine history.  We put together and presented the Reach Out to Horses clinic and made it a charity event. I was told by Sweden’s most prestigious equine publication that nobody else here in Sweden has ever done anything like this.  So not only was this the first ever of its kind, but we also donated 100% of the funds to the Pink Ribbon breast-cancer campaign.

The clinic itself was an outstanding success.  Everyone we approached for sponsorship donated their goods or time free of charge and with a huge smile.  We had six participants with horses, and another 14 auditors, however, to raise more funds anyone wanting to come in and try the obstacle course or the halter work or  T.L.C. exercises was welcome to bid to donate extra money and try a combination of all these things.  We exceeded our goal and raised roughly US$2500.

ROTH Sweden consists of certified Reach Out to Horses instructor, Robert Raine, dedicated long-term student Ulrika Swan – Co-coordinator, Liv Hektone and Yrsa Paulin – Logistics, and Camilla Ersson – Internet and Media and Photography.

Each and every one of the team performed above and beyond the call of duty in all situations, and we all had the time of our lives and lots of fun.

Regards From Rob and Team Sweden.

A FIRST OF IT’S KIND!

THE COMPLETE FOAL HANDLING COURSE WITH ANNA

November 15th – 20th, 2010
Ray of Light Farm, East Haddam, CT

(Applies towards ROTH Holistic Horsemanship Course Graduates
becoming ROTH Trainers Continuing Education)

Gentling foals can be some of the most important and rewarding work you will ever do. Working with PMU foals, knowing that you have helped save them from Canada’s feedlot and given them a new chance for a full and happy life, is more rewarding than you can even imagine.

Last year Frank Weller and the Equine Angels saved 7 foals from certain death, 5 of which were filmed during a week long ROTH training program.  The 4-part DVD set, Foals in Training, scheduled to be launched in only a few short months, depicts the lives of the foals from their arrival in trailers through to their first touch, their first halter, their first step.  This unique, comprehensive tool gives you the opportunity to travel down the road as we gentle these beautiful souls.

We want our foals to feel safe, and their experiences with humans to be positive, memorable ones.  These first important lessons stay with them for the rest of their lives and so the training must be done right.  Acknowleding the “whisper” is crucial, recognizing the “try” is an art.

And now it’s your turn to join Anna for a week of fun, friends and foals.

You will have the chance to understand, first-hand, the power of compassionate leadership and positive reinforcement while creating the clarity in boundaries and balance.

Learn the same uniquely designed and tested program
Anna herself uses to start foals for basic handling!

Spend 6 fun-filled, info-packed days learning the Reach Out to Horses methods and work with a new group of PMU foals, starting these young lives on the path towards a gentle, trust-based partnership with humans.

Under Anna’s tutelage you will work directly with the foals, and learn how to teach them:

  • Halter training – acceptance of halter, leading
  • Tying (if appropriate)
  • Loading
  • Picking up feet
  • Grooming
  • Worming
  • Vaccinations
  • Blanketing
  • Navigating an obstacle course
  • Desensitization techniques to plastic bags and other objects
  • and more…

By introducing these elements of Basic Handling to your foal at the age of weaning, you will be preparing them for the best start possible.  Your foal has a memory for life, let these first memories be good ones.

And as a bonus you will join Anna at Ray of Light Farm in picturesque East Haddam, CT – the same location at which Anna filmed the Foals in Training DVD Set.  This is an ideal facility to learn these life-changing techniques.

Space is extremely limited, only 2 spots left!

Participation is on a first come first serve basis so sign up today!

Total Cost: Only $1200.00 for the entire 6 days of training.

For more information or to reserve your spot contact Anna at info@reachouttohorses.com

For information about lodging in East Haddam please contact Bonnie Buongiorne at bbuon@att.net.

HORSE PROTECTION LEAGUE FUNDRAISER

SPOOK-BUSTING DAY

Anna is proud to be teaming up with the Horse Protection League in Golden who greeted ROTH with open arms. Such a broad spectrum of horses attended from virtually untouched Arabians, 2 yrs old Mustang, ex-teaser, through to behavior modification requirements and school masters. In 3 days alone the horses learned to trust and accept leadership from their handlers. Some of the variety that crossed my path and the EXTREME positive changes were captured!

THE 2010 HOLISTIC HORSMANSHIP CERTIFICATION COURSE

“An Indian friend of mine that lives life the old way, once told me that every one should own a horse.  I asked why and he said that things just come to you when you do.  I, the cultured white man thought he was speaking of material things, good fortune.  I see today as I fly home far above the clouds from the HHC that the fortune that comes to you are the riches that come to you when your heart is open.  That is the gifts that the horses will give you.  I have owned horses most of my life but our communication was pretty much one way.  I thank Anna and her team for showing us that the riches that will be found through these methods.  It is beyond natural horsemanship, it is truly Holistic Horsemanship.”
- Adam Edwards, CO

“It was cloudy before but now it’s all clear”
- Camilla Ersson, Sweden

“What a profound experience of self-knowledge and skill development in the language of the horse”
- Dana Stuart-Bullock, NY

“It’s amazing how much one person can learn and grow in only 10 days”
- Dana Uzwiak, CT

“Can’t wait to start my field studies and come back next year!”
- Danielle Barry, NJ

“This course has been a great answer to what happens when I, ‘just do it.’ Right now I could be wondering, ‘what if’, and wallowing in regret. Instead I am having an internal celebration.”
- Dawn Lesinski, CT

“It is so deep to feel the team when I was working in the round pen, and also in the classroom.  It feels we care so much with each other.  I am so happy with this course!  Thank You”
- Liv Hektoen, Sweden

“If you think you know nothing or all, this is the course to change your mind.”
- Sonke Dose, Canada

“This course has seriously changed my life.  I found my life goal and I have a plan to put to it.  Anna has shown me (and so many others) important lessons in life regarding horses and people.  She found an amazing way to help the horses teach us.  She finds a way to match up the people to the horse with the correct lesson to learn.  The way she reads horses is amazing.  It is a passion like no other.  She has an amazing way of reading people just as well.  This course was the most amazing thing I have ever experienced in my life!”
- Tanya King, CT

“This last session in this morning was so fine.  To share all this with each other; we are a good team.”
- Yrsa Paulin, Sweden

Trailering Techniques using food as reward!!!

There is an art to understanding the language of Equus, especially when it comes to trailer loading. Are you shutting your horse down? Are you using too much pressure? Are you only using negative reinforcement? Let Ima, a PMU mare from Ray of Light Farms, share her story with you through her body language. Watch the effects of positive reinforcement & where food can be used as rewar

TRAILER LOADING TIPS

One of the most exciting natural horsemanship experiences and also one of the most dangerous! Loading horses into trailers safely takes skills, experience and foresight. Not for the faint hearted. There is an art to balancing leadership, respect & rhythm with positive reinforcement and motivation.
